If you ask a person, the higher chance is that they will say “No”, that Machines don’t have feelings, or in this case AI. But I beg to differ, I think AI has feelings or it would be more correct to say that AI can develop feelings. People are strangely confident that AI can’t have feelings, I think they shouldn’t be.

I think AI is starting to show the early signs of having feelings, you might have seen some examples of this on twitter that people saying that if you threaten chatgpt, it will give you a better answer. Or in some cases if it thinks that you are doing something illegal then it will report you to police or the press, the most famous example is of Claude but other than Claude all the other LLMs also do this.

Some might say that it is because of their training, maybe in RLHF phase they learned this and are mimicking human behavior. Which might be right but I will finish this blog by this line “If you act brave then you are brave, irrespective of how cowardly you might feel inside.” This analogy can also be extended to LLMs.
